wow, $189 ???? w/ tuner? TFT? why arent these $400 ???
Spectrumzz,
You made this comment: "The Lilliput screens started to look good, but it's very hard to find someone that sells them nearer to the Chinese import price, which can be between $200-$275 USD per unit."
I saw they had a ton on Ebay but they were not touch screens. However, if they make a touch screen for $250 I'd be willing to try it.
Maybe those people from ebay can help find what I need. They've also got the bracket I need for $9. I got the link here: Maybe I need to dig further to get to China. I've got some freinds who I'll ask if they have some connections.

Thanks for mentioning it,

did you? don't take your anger about getting burned out on me man, understandably i was a bit surprised seeing the $189 price for something thats being snatched up at a $400 price...admittedly i couldn't even find this screen in my searching, but 7" is a bit small...
HOMEspecial did his HOMEwork.
dude that's a NTSC/PAL input, meaning COMPOSITE, meaning LOOKS LIKE CRAP
I did my homework, I bought a cheap *** screen and it was a POS
the $400 screens have this thing called "VGA" input which is 100x better than composite
vairox, maybe if you changed the style of your questions to be less adversarial (sp), people would respond to them in a more civilized manner.

It will be done sometime in the next generation.

Good deals on Ebay, but I only found 1 Liliput LCD that had VGA input.Originally Posted by vairox

Its $325. By the time I add a touchscreen, I'm at $425.
It appears you came up short in proving that there are better deals to be found. I'm not saying they don't exist, but either "show me the money" or stop babbeling like an overexcited highschooler about getting ripped off.

I bought a 5.6" in dash composite from Dave, and replaced it with a 7" in dash widescreen from Armen. I don't have the same need for VGA as others here, as my interface is sufficiently large & bold that I can get away without the fine detail.Originally Posted by spectrumzz
The 5.6" was fine, and the only reason why I replaced it was because the 7" was bigger and fit into the same size hole.
If you'd done a little more research, you'd find that the Gain screens and the Xenarc screens are in fact internally identical. As a result, there is no difference between Xenarc and DSCustoms except for price and service. Once again, I can't complain about either. Dave makes a point of holding spares if required - this was certainly the case with the 5.6" screen that I bought off him previously.Originally Posted by spectrumzz
The same can be said for Armen. He responded acceptably (even though I am in Australia, and therefore miles away), sending a spare part for the enclosure that I needed.
I restate my earlier comment. If you're unsure about a supplier, why not start a conversation with them? Talking to someone is the best way to get to know them.
C!

I am aware they are identical (GAIN and Xenarc are just labels for the same OEM hardware, I did my homeworkOriginally Posted by C4M
). I think I'm going to try one of Armen's screens and see how it works out. I'll definitely let you know how it works out.
frodobaggins - thats probably it, i'm not trying to be a dick or anything...
freestyler - yes, video graphics array, but does it truly make that much of a diff on a TFT screen? i have a POS 7" STN and it indeed looks like crap, but i just figured it was cause it was STN and not TFT.
