Question Question About Touch Screen Used As Video only

Is it possible to use a Touch screen as a video input only. For instance, if I have a DVD player in my car, can I connect that to the touch screen as well as use it as a touch screen with a laptop? I am new to this type of setup and I am deciding if I want the Touch Screen setup or just a normal 7" TFT monitor to run a DVD player to. (or can you do both?)Please help.

ahh this kind of confused me but the touchscreens from like digitalww pretty much act like a mouse.. you can't have them control a dvd player..

if you have a dvdrom and the dvd is playing on your computer then you can use a touchscreen

Well my question was: Can you use a touchscreen monitor like a regular monitor? Hook DVD players to it and all? If you can, can you use it for video only AND touchscreen to control a laptop? At the same time?

Like this. Can I hook my car DVD player to it and look at movies, AND use it as a touchscreen to control a laptop in my trunK?

    Hope that clears it up.

I'm doing just that with mine! My touchscreen has a vga input. i think you just need a touchscreen with either RCA input or both RCA and VGA

No. not in my case. The monitor i have auto-senses between inputs and does that task for me. That is one of the reasons why I think the 700 ts usb is worth the money.
