hi, this TM-701L comes with a screen right? Is it possible to just buy the housing with the motorized unit and add whatever screen we buy? Cause i notice according to the site the screen isnt vga so it wouldnt be great for smaller stuff such as gps maps right?

    Hi!
I bought the box and sliders from Armen and installed my USB VGA Touchscreen into it.

Could you possibly do one of those with the Touch screen kit as well. It would make installation so much easier. I would also like to see some written documentation for that stuff. I will probably be ordering both the vga and tsk at a much later date (gotta get back to the states, damn desert, find money , etc.). Thanks for the pic walk through though.

    Hi!

no, I couldn't attach my screen. I had to decase it and install it in the new case that came with the mounting kit. I don't think there is a page for just the mount. PM digitalww on this site. He will tell you what you need to do.

I've got a new question for all you folks. How do you attach the TM701L to your dash so that it won't slide around? I've got it in the dash, where the radio used to fit but the box doesn't fit into a single din sleeve so how did y'all attach it?

    Chut,
I didn't have any trouble attaching the TM701L in my dash at all. It didn't fit perfectly, but I managed to use the toyota radio bracket to keep it intacted.

You might need to create some brackets to hold the monitor in your dash, I think.

no it doesnt come with any harnesses, but yes it does come with two ~4in long side brackets...too bad the case itself is the full din size

i took the side brackets, bent them at the ends, (*note: the following is a rig*) two-part epoxied the long end to each side of the case, secured them to the case with several rows of tie straps, and screwed the other end of the brackets into a part of the frame of the car that is in the back on my dash console. its in there pretty good now. i was gonna screw the brackets into the case itself, but thought better of damaging the components
