If you got the money, you can do anything. So, yes it can be done. What you can display is up to your imagination. The useage? Well you can replace all of your tail lights with 2 super bright LCD screens You can then display "BRAKE" when braking, flash "Turn Left", "Turn Right", "Hazard" That's just the basics. You can have your own message like "Turn off your blinkers" or "Stop riding on your brakes" or anything you want.

cant bend oleds. I've seen 6.4" video capable OLED at CES last year. That sucker's about 2mm thick. This year I saw a 13.3" wide screen OLED thats 1/4" thick. The problem they have OLED is life expectancy. The OLEDs at CES last only 400-600 hours. They need to increase that to 10,000 hours befor releasing to the public. Pioneer displayed 2 4" film type video screen that can be bend. Thickness = piece of paper. Price tag? Was told $5,000,000 each. Also told that other big companies like SONY are devoloping the same technology. A larger working demo will come out in a few years.

You can bend a lcd. I got bored one day and dis assembled my gameboy . The lcd part of the screen is two very thin and flexable films (plastic sheets) with a edge connector. The films are the connected to a piece of glass (just sitting in front in this case) and must be setup a certion way. If you put the screens together backwards, everything shows up in posi/negi. I have been contemplating using a system like this to use as an adjustable tint for my windows. The problem is finding a manufacturer that will make the controller or the sheets large enough to conver my windows. Voltage determins brightness. I dont know if it is still manufactured like this for color lcd's but I dont see why it wouldnt be.

Cproaudio, they have the message system made with LEDs. You don't want to put LCD as your tail lamp. they are not bright enough and it will not be legal. I did a ton of research on what lights are legal for the US.
They sell it for about 100 pounds in UK. I'll look up the link for you

Here is the link for the electronic tint. You can get it in smaller size as well. There is a company that sell small covers for your licence plate. If you start the car up and if you don't hit a switch, it's blank.

Interesting site to say the least, but not usefull as window tint in a car. When it is off, the galss is opaque from both sides. Using a mono colored lcd, it would be tinted from one side when on and tinted from the other side when off. It would be more like a one way window, and the one way depends on if the power is applied or not. On , the view into the car is clear, but the windows are tinted from the inside. That would cut down on the drivers glare/direct sunlight from his point of view. Off, nobody could see in the car (due to no backlight) but the driver could see out with no impairment what so ever.
