After looking at getting a VGA capable xenarc, i am starting to wonder if my hard earned $$$ would be better spent on a standard desktop lcd.
From my point of view...
Xenarc us$400 ish for about a 5"-7" (after getting into NZ$ and p+p = $NZ Lots)
LCD $NZ400 for a 14" (saw a 12" for $225, should have got it)
so can someone "Show me the light?"![]()

yea, i can find them ok, its jst that i want to know why i should
go for the xenarc. (other than touchscreen- which i dont really
want)
The Xenarc is small, I like it because I can fit it into my Roadster. It's is DC powered. It is actually a good looking screen. I guess it just depends on what you want.

I owned a xenarc 7" with touch for 2 days before returning it for a bad pixel, and it looked great in terms of brightness and clarity (inside my house anyway).
I was a little surprised at the size though. Since it is widescreen, it is pretty small heightwise. I am now thinking about going with a 10.4" without touch or adding touch?

There are several desktop LCDs out there that use 12VDC power and can be had much cheaper than a Xenarc. If you have the space to install one of these monsters, go ahead and do it.
Like the NEC 1555V I just picked up from Staples the other day, $129-$50 rebateThe cashier was seriously bug eyed.
You do end up paying extra for the small size (think Shuttle SFF boxes or laptops)
