Thread: Non-working touchscreen - USB Diagnostics tool?

I know there are diag. tools for serial touchscreen controllers, but can I get similar for USB? Or any other ways of testing what's broken? Don't really want to have to replace both!

Okay, done a little more digging and now I could do with someone doing an experiment for me.

What I did was remove the touch panel, and place a multimeter across pins 1 and 3, and then pins 2 and 4 on the panel. Setting to measure resistance (in the 100s ohms range), I get a resistance reading between each of a few hundred ohms. This implies that there is an electrical path there and the tracks aren't broken as I thought.

When I press however this resistance doesn't change. Not 100% sure if that's exactly how it should work, but if someone could verify what happens on theirs I'd appreciate it. Help me to rule out which item is the problem.
