So you are saying that (-) or (+) is labeled wrong? Do you have a +ive tip or -ive tip?
I know this has been mentioned before but I think it needs to be made a sticky.
People with Xenarc/Gain 7" 700 screens should beware that the cable that comes with the AC adapter is wired differently to the Norm.
The live feed that normally goes to the centre pin on the adapter input is not the wire with the writing on, this may not be correct for everone, but I just tested mine, and mines reversed.
To be on the safe side, when you cut the AC adapter off, test the cable to make sure you get the live and the earth the correct way round before you connect it to your screen.
"YOU WILL BLOW YOUR SCREEN" if you wire it wrong with DC current
btw the xenarc 700tsv has a voltage range of 11v-32v meaning it doesnt need to be regulated to connect direct to a cars 12v battery.

If it's stuck, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway

Most cable wiring on the AC side uses a white line/white writing on the cable shielding to indicate the positive feed, and the other is left totally black, but on the gain/Xenarc, the white writing on the cable does not mean live, but infact earth.
Anyone who has cut off AC transformers in the past will know what I am on about..
Just make sure you test the cable prior to fitting it to you screen,
