This is just a warning to any newbies like me.
I'm building a "budget carputer" with a junk(free) computer from my work. I purchased a Pyramid 5.6" LCD (no vga or s-vid) off ebay for $69 thinking it couldn't be THAT bad.
Guess what? ...It's THAT bad.
It's extremely fuzzy. I can barely make out the button text in ME with the default skin. I tried different video cables thinking it could be interference, but no luck.
So if you are itching to build your first carputer, and you think, "these guys on the forums are just picky...how bad can the cheap screens be?", take your time and save up an extra $50-100 for a good display.
Anyone want to buy a used Pyramid 5.6" screen?
Is that a computer in your trunk?
No. I collect beige boxes and connect wires to them for fun.

yes that is the biggest newbie mistake. People see those cheapo screens showing movies and such and think these aren't that bad, then they see what a computer looks like hooked up to one and they are let down.
