    LCDproc problems

    I'm using hd44780 type LCD for my carputer. LCDproc v0.4.3 controls LCD, and all this system runns on Linux kernel 2.4.22. LCD is connected to LPT by 4bit pinout. But sometimes when i start LCDd, then LCD display does not how any picture and in syslog is messages like that:

    Oct 22 21:30:31 debian LCDd: Screen->Client List has timeout->-1
    Oct 22 21:30:31 debian LCDd: drivers_getkey()

    When i kill LCDd and start it again several times, then it starts working. But problem come again sometimes after restarting computer.

    I am not very familiar with linux, but I would check to see what the lpt1 is set to in bios. There should be 3 options - spp,epp,ecp. For windows I set mine to ecp+epp.
