One time my cousin Walter got this kat stuck in his ***...
I would send that crap back man
I have a 12.1" LCD screen that was damaged in a break-in (they punctured the LCD). I took it all apart and ordered a new LCD for it and just got it in the mail the other day.
I have all the pieces sitting out seperate and plugged it all together with the new screen but I don't get an image on it. The backlight comes on and lights the screen up almost white, but that's it. Am I missing something or is this screen bad?? Also do all the pieces (vga controller, power board, and switch panel) all need to be grounded together for it to work?? I have it all laying on a piece of foam right now.
Thanks for any input....

1. who is they, and where is the screen from?Originally Posted by Brodee
2. is it the same screen that you started with ( model number i mean)?
3. check and double check all the connections again.
4. the grounds should be common but not necessarily required.
very hard to diagnose... best of luck. you might try contacting the vendor to see what the deal is.

Just from your vague description, it sounds like the signal from the controller is not making it to the lcd panel. There should be two connections to the LCD. The inverter -> backlight (simpler connection) and the controller -> LCD (more complex conection). For the controller -> LCD, first make sure that it's connected. If it is, make sure that it's plugged in well (push in the connectors).
If that doesn't help, take some pics of your setup and post 'em.
Thanks for all the input guys. I'll get some pics and post them.
The monitor was in a restaurant, no brand name on it. The LCD is a Torisan and the one I replaced it with is the same model Torisan I purchased off of ebay. I realize that it could be a bad lcd because of where I got it, but I didn't want to pay the $270 that I was quoted from an online supplier.
Nice mallrats quote there Sj
