Haven't tried it in direct sun yet. But mine is currently set at 50% Brightness and is ok in most light levels. Hopefully will get a decent sunny day soon so can test brighter levels better

right good news everyone. After asking him if I could check for loose wires as to why the touch wasnt responding he said that would be ok in this instance and my warranty still stands . I opened it up-saw the ribbon was trapped in the case -freed it up and replugged it in and guess what-touchscreen functions perfectly!!! Im very happy with the service and with the screen now and recommend this guy thoroughly-as most places would require it sent back even though most of us on here are more than capable of investigating simple faults like this.As to why they appear in the first place thats down to lilliput but from what I read there are very few screens with actual real faults that a small bit of prodding couldnt fix.

Re brightness mine is on 1% and is more than bright enough in the cloudy-ish weather we are having at the mo -this is a very bright screen and im sure provided its not in direct full on midday sun in egypt or somewhere itll be viewable. I spose if you mount it where you havent got a great angle to start with (or passenger side/glovebox) and its in direct light you may have to move slightly to read it but short of putting a film coated NF CRT in your car you arent gonna have 100% of viewing angles perfect. for me its 1 meeelion times better than I need anyway. -get one -you wont be disappointed.

That is very surprising! I sent mine back to Hong Kong because of a touchscreen problem. (it also had a bust pixel otherwise I may have tried to fix it myself).

My replacement has this morning been signed for by my neighbour, so hopefully this one will be happy!

Car changed for TVR Griffith 500, so computer de-installed. Using a Dension 100ix w/60Gb HD unit in the interim.

That's nice, mine might just develope a similar fault just before I take it apart to see how it will fit into the dash in my car

hehe I dont think itll still stand if I start blending the front into my dash but im gonna leave it rough for a month or two as if its gonna die its most likely gonna be during then and ill have the warranty to fall back on if lilliput have installed a 30 day self destruct lol.

    Hi,

Mine is set at 0% and is still very bright even in direct sunlight!! any ideas how to dim in the dark even more?? Not that it bothers me too much but when using in the dark it looks as if i have a strobe show on inside the car!!

    Regards

Just to let people know. I have had my lilliput for almost a month now, and I never saw the strange burn-in screens.... till yesterday. Nothing about my setup changed, but now I get the girl/grass picutre. I am not too concerned, because I plan to build a circuit that will turn on the screen after the computer has booted (who wants to watch linux load anyways?).

Basically, my point is that you can not simple test the screens for burn-in in one day. It might pop up at a later point.
