Stowaway mount for LCD?

Has anybody put an LCD screen on a mount that can be "folded" or stowed away from view?

I can install my carpc and use my steering wheel and head unit controls for controls.

However, I would like to sometimes use a touchscreen for GPS navigation or movies.

Anyone done anything like this? Or has seen a mount appropriate for this?

I'm looking for the same thing. I've talked to some friends and one said i should try to get one of those stow away retractable arms from airplane tv's. You know those ones where it comes out of the arm rest and has several joints?

Anyone know where to get those ;o)

One of the reasons i'm looking for this solution is because i want a touchscreen that is VGA and is with in driver / pass reach. The only company i know of that has this in 1 din fold out is digitalww. They are expenisve and out of stock.

There is also those cheep bendy arm things that people use for cell fones and pdas. I'm looking for something a bit sexier than that.

This is my first carputer project and its on hold till everything can be completely hidden while parked. I'm not going to "shows" to let anyone i don't really know see the car and the puter. I am having nightmares about getting my setup jacked and i don't have one yet ;o).

Hi all,

I have just got a bracket from a VDO navigation screen that has a quick release button to allow you to remove and then unplug the screen. I will try and get some pictures up here before the weekend..

me too, I'm looking for a center console fold out arm for my lilliput LCD. Found nothing so far. Been dood;ling a custom design, but I figure the cost of a machinist's time would be $$.

The first link that you posted looks good. I would like to give that a try...but need to build my system first.

no one really has much to say to posts like this, i've noticed in the past.....come one people, im sure theres more people out there who mounts their lcd on an arm-like mount. Give us some more insight.
