Think I busted my screen

Think I 've busted my screen. First just flashed white light then after a while, it stopped doing anything. Was working perfectly.

The Panel is a Toshiba LTM10C209A with a CTX Panoview 550 p/n 00.531001.001 Rev B controller board. Not sure what the inverter part/product number is, came out of an old Taxan CV600 which is a rebadged CTX.

anyone know of any inverters that might work with this, cheap (so I can check if it is the back light blown before I spend on a new controller). Pref UK supplier.

BTW, tested new motherboard with it, and symptoms exactley the same as the old one, which leads me to consider it either the backlight, inverter, or controller. I know this will now get pricey.

That sounds great. After Xmas when I've sorted my money out, I will definatley get back to you. Definatley the cheapest option (than going with a new controller) until I know what the problem is.

Cool, and these controllers definatley have the two flat ribbon connectors (one wide, Narrow).

Don't suppose you have a photo and part/serial number for these controllers do you, so I can do a little research. WIll definatley start with the inverter. The price for the controller (hope it is analogue VGA rather than PCI/ISA card) looks good to though.

The controller has an IDC connector (40 pin, 2 rows, so 2x20, just like IDE cables). This should be easy to make a cable for.. Also, information is available at http://www.partyinthecity.com/lcdcontroller

Hmm, don't know if that will work.
the screen in question has the flat copper/plastic strip ribbons like a lot of laptops. found this site with details of them.
Here it also lists recommended inverters.

Ah, Hirose connector. It is possible, but requires you to build a special cable or buy one from Quadrangle.. The cable costs around $30-40 if I remember correctly..
