Sigh, gone a week and no replies...![]()
Not sure if anyone else has this problem but couldn't find it when i did a search.
I have the tm-701L in dash 7" lcd screen with composite video in's. My problem is that the screen will only do 640x480 and it only takes up about 80-85% of the full screen. What I mean is that there is a border around the desktop on the top and right of the the screen and i'm not refering to the bezel.
At first I thought it might be because the screen was configured as a default monitor, so I switched that to a plug and play, changed the rez to 800x600 and that didn't work. I thought it might be the video card, a trident 4 meg 975, switched that up with a sis 6326 8 meg, that didn't work either. In fact i thought i'd killed my screen cuz i couldn't even get an image to come up on the 701L. Switched the video card back to the trident 975 and it came up fine.
Any idea's as to what i might be able to do to get the use of a higher rez as well as the full screen from top to bottom and left to right?

well part of the problem is that the 800x600 setting doesn't stick. I contacted Armen and am waiting for what he has to say.
Try here. http://www.letscommunicate.co.uk/carputer/hardware.htm
He's a member of the board but I Forget his handle, but he created a custom driver because, I believe, he was having the same problem you were having. You'll find it under the first version of the hardare he used.
Thanks for the link, some good info there. I found the driver your talking about, but it for the TM-7002S and it's for PAL. Not sure it'll work for my tm-701L.
Just came across a post about changing refresh rates, gonna try that. It's default setup, so i think that's 60 Hz, gonna try to change it to 70Hz. Let's see if that changes anything.
Guess if none fo this works, i'll have try a nvidia geforce4mx 440. Any impressions on these cards?
