Question Did i F#@ up my Xenarc Screen

Hi guys, i just finished up 3 weeks of bondo/sanding madness and when i tried my screen out today it was malfunctioning. The funny thing is that it worked find the day before. But all of the sudden the AV1, AV2 work fine. However, when the PC comes up, it shows the resolution but does not show what's going on the screen. It's just blank. Has anybody else had this problem?
I checked the connection on the screen with the black VGA cord but it seems to be connected fine. I'm really depressed because my dash for my civic is all integrated but now the LCD doesn't work properly. I think i'm going to cry ;-(

does it malfunction only when it's in the dash? this guy around here molded his xenarc into his dash and it ended up pressing down on one of the corners ... makeing the touchscreen wig out.

just wondering if there could be something about the way it's installed ...

    malfunctions everywhere

No, i have sitting on my desk and it is malfunctioning, but i probably did something to screw it up. I'm just wondering how to fix it. It shows the resolution 1024* by whatever, or 800 by 600 but nothing on the screen. However when i connection some video through AV1 or AV2 everything works fine.

    thanks,
    Gary

sounds like the computer output might be the problem? try dropping the frequency, etc...

    What do you mean frequency?

I tried different resolutions, and nothing works. It all worked before, i'm really lost. I have this dash piece that's all integrated into my dash. I custom made it for the xenarc, but now it lookes like i F'd it up. I know software but not hardware, so i really have no clue as to how to fix this problem. But if i by a new one it would have to be another xenarc, since i don't know the dimension of the lilliput and it probably won't fit perfect into the bondo project i did to my dash. But it looks like liliput is a better screen.
I'm really F'd! plus my girl friend dropped my laptop the other day and know it's making noises, but that's a story for another day. Anybody have any ideas, anybody experience similar problems?

i was speaking of frequency. Tell us the results of doing this:

go to desktop, right click, click properties. Go to the settings tab. Click advanced. Go to the 'adapter' tab. click "list all models". scroll to the VERY TOP of the list and click the item there (should be lowest res, freq, and color) Then click ok,ok,ok,etc, and tell us what happens. If this doesn't work we're pretty much guarenteed the problem is on the computer.

ok did all that, i picked 640x480 at 256 colors, the xenarc screen showed that i was using that resolution at 60hz , but no pictures. When i select AVI or AV2 it works fine (NTSC) signal it show moves from dvd fine. So i guess somehow i messed up some part of the vga thingy. Any other ideas. I tried it on a whole bunch of computers and it didn't work. but worked fine a couple of days ago...

have you tried booting up on save mode... try it maybe you have some kind of conflict, and see if it works fine with a regular screen or a different one. and if you tried everything else just pop it open and see is any broken wires..

if av1 and av2 work but the vga does not, i'd guess there may be something wrong witht he vga comtroller board. different circuitry is used for the composite and vga inputs.

do you know someone else with a xenarc that you could put your screen on their controller board?
