    Any Linux-ers here

    does somebody have done carpc with linux?
    There is DashPC - linux soft for carpc, does anybody know it?

    i have questions on X and 7" Lilliput and M10K also..

    yes i do.. but i use my own software. I never liked the look of dashpc.. its way too bland

    I think a lot more people would use Linux, but for the lack of good GPS software. Drivers are also harder to come by, usually a lot further behind windows drivers.

    On the other hand in it's favour Linux can be built to boot very quickly, and is a lot more stable.

    So for now Windows XP is the OS of choice for most carPC'ers.

    what distro do you use? I see you dont have EPIA board, so more likely you have no problem (or had no problem) with video/resolution.
    do you use regular ATX motherboard? how do you power it?

    i use my own distro i made from slackware 9.0. Its pretty much slackware just a few added packages and also only loads certain services and a custom kernel so the boot is very fast.

    I just use a old compaq mobo and power it with an inverter.
