    Question iPAQ touch screen

Anyone know if you can use an iPAQ lcd and touchscreen? Seems like you can find these on ebay for around $30.00.

I just wanted to make a mp3 carputer, but while I was thinking about it, video would be cool too, but the cheapest I can get away with, the better.

Go easy on me fellas, I'm a noob!!!! And I did try a search, but it always returned 0 results.

It can be done, but it would cost you WAY too much.

You might as well just pick up a used iPAQ and use it for your mp3 player.

It might even handle some video.

    good luck

So what would the cost be in? Like I said, I am a complete idiot when it comes to this stuff. I just started getting interested in it a few days ago, and haven't found much to go on regarding the iPAQ.

Sounds like I need to clarify. I just want to use the lcd and touchscreen FROM and iPAQ. This would require wiring it up to another divice for input. The wiring it up to another device part is what I was wondering if anyone had done or attempted, and if so, how difficult would it be to make it work with a pc.

It can be done, but you will need to purchase a VGA controler board that is compatible with the screen (likely more than $100) and then an inverter to power the screen (at least $30), and if you want touch, you'd need the touchscreen and the touch controller card......

I would love to do it, but for the price it would cost you, you could build a much larger screen, or even buy one that is ready to go.
