    Lilliput Repair??

Alright so I'm not the smartest guy in the world and probably deserve to have to buy a new screen. So I have a lilliput and I just finished re-installing it in my car... well when I reinstalled it I noticed that the color blue was missing from it.... so everything was yellow almost... now when I would wiggle the cable where it interconnect w/ the 9pin to VGA cable it would turn blue temporarily.... ok so easy fix (NOT!) So I tried to fix it by pushing on the pins, adjusting the pins and nothing worked. So i opened the wire a bit... but then I cut some wires. So I tried to hard wire the cable to the lilliput... bad idea for somebody who doesn't solder very much!! Anyways at this point I'm about to give up on this thing... so here's my question

Question 1. Does anybody have a lilliput that may have a cracked screen that they may want to sell me the controller and back portion of the screen.

Question 2. If not will it be more economical to purchase a new screen or have this one fixed.... and if I have this one fixed who can do it?

    Thanks in advance!
New CarPC on the way again I think. I miss my old one!!!

having the same problem with that g0ddamn 9 pin connetor. what did it look like when you cut that cable open? I was seriously considering doing this, why do you think it didint work? You could try taking it to an elextrician and having him cut/strip the wires on both sides of the plug and solder/heatrshrink them. He might do it for 30 bux or something.

    Just a thought

well I soldered it to the board itself.... and what happened was that when I connected it it didn't sync I didn't get a signal, then I turned it off and then back on and I got a signal but all I would see was a line at the top of the screen blinking, like it wouldn't sync horizontally... so I'm going to give it a few more shots on this but the cabling is messed up because when I cut into it, the colors were different between the two cables. I had 1 yellow in the extension cable and 1 gray hardwired to the screen.... its messed up man!!!

here is what i would do, though it may be too late for you: cut the cables on each side of the connector plug and strip them. Then use a multimeter (shrt function) to see which wires connect to which, and solder/heatshrink those together, then re-wrap the whole bundle.

    Hope this helps.

Hey, did you ever get your problem fixed? If not I'll buy it from you.

    Seriously. E-mail me at boards@disassorted.com

I dropped my LCD panel and now it is broken. So I'll buy yours from you for the panel. Just a thought. I'd probably be willing to pay you $100.00 for it if the screen (LCD panel) still works. If you decide to contact me, could you let me know if it had any dead pixels or not?

Aside from that, we may be able to work the other way as well. I could sell you my controller, etc. Let me know if you're interested.
