Second LCD screen for my 3.5 year old son.

My girlfriend wants me to add a second LCD screen to my system to have for my 3.5 year old son so he can watch cartoons and stuff while we are doing long car trips.

    A couple of questions.

I am going to use A lilliput LCD TS VGA as my main screen and since that uses the vga out on the mini itx it shouldn’t be any problem adding another screen to the composite out on the motherboard. Would it ?

If all this is possible what cheap LCD screen would you recommend for this purpose? He is only 3.5 years old but he loves to watch Finding Nemo and N64 Roms on his home computer. But he doesn’t need a very good LCD.

Maybe I can buy one of those wireless USB joypad so he can play N64 games in the car as well hehe ..

I found something here but it looks to cheap to be true ..

your mini itx mother board probly dosnt suport dual video. so yes you should be able to conect it via RCA but it will dislplay the same thing as the main one..

if you wanna do dual. wish IMHO would be cooler. then you'd need a lil more powerfull system and have 2 video's out. one could display your stuff.. the other you just move his movie player over to

I'm in a similar position but have no real need to hook up to the PC, I'm thinking of getting a regular NTSC screen for the back and a cheap personal DVD player to drive it, that or put an XBox in and use that to play DVD's and DivX as well as gaming.

Any opionions on the Lilliput NTST TV model?

    Chris.

I was originally planning to hook up rear screens to my PC too, but found the hardware would not display video to two different outputs simultaneously. Test it with a TV or another monitor first. I ended up buying an eBay DVD player for $90 and two 4" PSOne screens for $60.

But do you think a STN screen would be good enouh for watching movies on.
Remember this screen is only going to be used by one person at time so the viewing angle would not be a issue since the screen would be straight infront of him.

I would expect a STN screen to suffer from shaddowing when watching.. which makes em a waste really, the reason i'm saying this is I used to have a toshiba laptop with a STN screen, was a nightmare to follow the mouse on screen as it didnt update fast enough.. things might of moved on alittle but I would prefer to pay alittle more.. u never know what else it might be used for
