    DiCON LCD1024E controller card

I've been having some real trouble sourcing a single DiCON LCD1024E analog XGA controller for my Samsung LT141X7-124 14.1" flat panel. None of the distributors want to sell me a single controller card and cable unless I spend $500 or more.

    I was wondering:

    1. Does anyone know any sources for small quantities of this controller card?
    2. Does anyone have an LCD1024E they want to sell?
    3. Is anyone else in need of this card and want to be in on a small group buy?

    Thanks for hearing me out.

Why bother? For $200 - $300 you can get one of those generic (mag?) 14.1" desktop displays (ebay and sometimes retail). Rip it apart and you've got everything you need.

dicon controllers cost $150 no matter if its 1024E or 1280IE (at least for me they were)...u should get couple of them, say 5, and sell them off here. I bet many ppl would be interested in if you'd post more info about them. my 2c

Okay, I'd like to open this up to other people who are interested.

I only need 4 or 5 buyers to meet the $500 minimum. The LCD1024E supports a variety of LCDs of several sizes.

The controller datasheet can be found here:
    http://www.hy-line.de/computer/downl...r_LCK500-2.pdf

And here is a copy/paste of the features:
    - High display quality for VGA, SVGA and XGA resolution.
    - Support 16 modes of different panel timing by jumper setting.
    - Useful for various type of products with just one type of controller.
    - Low cost, Reliable H/W & S/W design

Since the LCD1280E supports 1280 x 1024 resolution as well as the lower ones, I am willing to go for that if it's the same price.

Okay, I'll request a quote for the LCD1280E and if it's the same price we could go with that.

So we have three people interested...do you guys know if your LCD is supported? I'd hate see anyone disappointed after they bought the controller card. The list of tested LCDs begins on page 14 of that PDF I linked to.

Could someone please explain the optional USB Port? What would it be used for?
