Question Is a Bare Sharp LCD worth it?

Ive spent time researching and researching an came to a conclusion. Im would simply like any input you guys might have.

I found a (no housing)Sharp LQ-9D161 with 3M Microtouch touchscreen for 40 dollars. However the catch is that it doesnt come with a touchscreen inverter, LCD controller, nor a Touchscreen controller.

    LCD w/ touchscreen $40
    power inverter $15
    LCD controller $200
    Touchscreen controller $20

I found that piecing everything togather to simply get this screen functional it would cost roughly $275.00 dollars. Aside from having to rig the connectors and solder like a crazyman.

I recently had someone suggest a 7" lilliput Touchscreen LCD. I found that these already come preassembled with vga and usb ready. For 250 bucks minus the assembly time.

I was thinking of buying one of these lilliput touchscreen LCD's and dismantling it to remove the built in speaker and LCD housing.

My question is can this be done? and is this my best option?

My Goal is to have a custom job with a 7" inch mounted flush in my dash console.

    I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse GT 2000
