Thread: LILIPUT vs. Xenarc

Well I am glad I got in here first, because about 10 or 20 posts telling you to will come up, and not that I disagree with Searching before asking, I will assume you did and really didn't find what you are looking for....

Actually I think I made a post a few months ago looking for the same info...

Well to my point.... XENARC is the way to go.... if you can afford about $150 more...

I bought a Xenarc 700TS and it is absolutely the nicest screen I have seen. It is professional all the way through... from the packaging it comes in to the screen itself.... There is no "Jurassic Park" image, there is no grease on the case, the case fits together like it is supposed to, it doesn't stop working if you sneeze on it....

In my opinion the Lilliput is less expensive (i.e. cheap) and that is what you get... Cheapness....

As many here say, do it right the first time.... It won't be cheaper if you spend months sending dead units back to Taiwan to be repaired, or you end up trashing it eventually and buying a Xenarc anyway....

That's my opinion.... I wonder how bad the Lilliput group will thrash me....

My Personal Experience (YMMV):
I got a lilliput, and have had issues with the touchscreen, Extreme Audio offered to fix and replace it, but it would require me to ship it back to Hong Kong. Rather than deal with that, I'm going to live with it being for display only, and check out the Xenarc wen I get some more money saved up.

I guess it varies. I have heard about issues with both screens. I for one have a Lilliput 7 inch with touch screen, and it is running flawlessly in our family car. Touch screens are sensitive in general unless you get a commercial POS touch screen that is made to get banged on and spilled on by waiters/store clerks.

I also have a Lilliput. It will be permanantly installed in the car tomorrow. It has been used with 5 different computers testing including riding around unmounted in my car connected to my laptop. I have had NO problems so far. The picture is great and the money I saved will go towards other upgrades for the carputer. Just wanted to post my positive experience with the Lilliput.

but isn't the liliput much brighter --> much mor daylight readable than the xenarc? i think this is an important point if you have it installed in your car where th sun can sine on it.

As a bonus, my Lilliput *didn't* come with grease on the case!! Heh, what was that all about??

I don't see how people can suggest which is better unless they have owned and used both screens...

I would like to know others thoughts on the brightness issue as well...I have the Xenarc and my main issue is that it's a little difficult to see durring the day.....great at night, just not at day....

also....how many people have had these issues with Liliput? What's in the case wouldn't bother me one bit being that the case would be coming off anywyas to have the screen flush mounted....but if it's something that might affect performance then that's another story....
