For those of us that can't afford VGA LCDs?

For those of use that can't afford one of those indash VGA LCDs, Would this kind of thing work? or are they just basically a way to have TV out on a video card that only has VGA?

Would this kind of thing help for people with composite screen to be able to see GPS data clearer?

Regrettably I went down the route of vga to tv adaptors. I found the image was blurred/fuzzy, couldn’t read the text very easily etc. Now managed to sell the monitor and now looking for a 7” lcd with touch screen (but with reverse flip on the video input (not the vga).

Why is there such a huge difference ($300) between the VGA LCD that is in-dash (not motorized) and the VGA LCD that is stand alone?

They seem to be the same model too - Panasonic (EDTCB18QCF)LCD Panel

Can putting the thing in a DIN holder really be $300?

Alright, the $300 gap doesn't include the touchscreen. But if you take the touch scren one that is standalone TM-710VGT and the touch screen one that is in dash (but not motorized) DWW-7VGA the difference is still almost $200.
