Can anyone give any more info on this jurrasic logo that appears? why? etc

that gives thoeries. Very good thread to read up on for lilly users.
Hey all, recently bought 7" touchscreen lilliput from london dealer on ebay. So far it has worked fine, bit of a pain with the drivers but removing my bluetooth first seemed to sort it.
As for the jurrasic logo, dont know when you normally see it but I have seen it a few times, and this happens when the HZ or res is too high for the display. For example, 800x600 up to 70hz should work fine, however anything above will either tell you it is out of range or will show the jurrasic logo.
my advice would be to put a normal monitor on, make the screen res nice and low such as 800x600 60hz and then reboot and stick the screen back on. Hold the < button on the screen and it will do an "auto adjust" as well which should help a bit with the picture.
I hope that this helps and I would be interested to hear if anyone has any luck with my suggestions.
Regards,
Dave

Select A or B
A) I bought it direct from China and it's made of substandard cr@p parts.
B) I bought it in the U.S. and it's made of all new parts.

I hate to tell you, but everyone get's these from china. I have been talking with lilliput now for over a month (due to my group buy taking for ever), and everytime I ask where they will be shipping from, the answer is china. They come straight from the factory and delivered to the seller. There really arent any middle men accept for the sellers. So to place blame on the seller of the product is not a very valid claim. Just like if you buy a magnavox tv at best buy and it didnt work, so you went to walmart and it did work. Do you really think that walmart is better. No, I dont think so.Originally Posted by Curiosity
Lilliput is a company with only 300 employees, that may seem to be a lot but consider this. They serve the whole world from one factory. I work in a factory as a mechanic and we serve only about 25 US customers. We have about 150 employees. Lilliput must have more than 25 regular customers and there sales must be quite a bit. On there website it says they profit over $6,000,000 a year. That is huge. The company I work for does about $25,000,00 in sales and only profits about $1.5 mil. Different markets, but considering sale to profit ratios, lilliput is obivously leading but with less of a work force ratio.
Now proving my piont. Take this information, figure out product assembly requirements to the amount of staffing, and you should figure out that lilliput is obviously doing much more business with a much less person to product assembly ratio. The company I work for makes plastic bottles and in no way requires as much precision in production of them, but the amount of bottles produced to amount of screens lilliput can produce is quite a bit more. But obviously a bottle doesnt cost over $200.00.
Anyway, just a little insight and help with why you might have problems with the lilliput. I did not realize there was this many problems with them. But considering that no one let's you know when things work and are quick to complain that chances are that you will get a good one.![]()
If I bought anything from wamart and it didn't work, they would either replace it or refund my money. It's the law. Now if you buy a product from a reseller in the U.S. that is refurbished and the seller doesn't make the consumer aware of that one fact, it's a stiff penalty or worse. You should ask Lilliput if the units are refurbished. They MUST tell you if they are. I really doubt it, because, as you said, they are originally made in China. There is one other law stating that the refurbishing company must use parts that are of equal or greater quality to that set by the trademark company's standards for quality control. See, that's why I said "bought directly from China" where U.S. laws don't apply. It's the same as if another company recycled your bottles and put your company's name or product name back on them. For one thing, at that point, they become liable for any defects, and a whole lot of other things. Just about anything could blemish thier name, as you've seen with Lilliput. Case in point. It looks like they made a perfect repoduction and still got in trouble, and that's just golf balls!
But anway, yeah you're right, there are probably thousands with new units, and all you see are the complaints from the few that got bad ones. So... here's a pic of a *real* Lillitput VGA cable that doesn't fall apart.![]()
ever thought that lilliput makes so much profit because their margin is so high due to using cheap parts?
besides, they don't really manufacture most of the components, they just assemble them.
so comparing any company to another based on employees, market and what not is really a shot in the dark.... without knowning nothing more.
did you get the Old model or New Model. The new one I got have no problem at all.
