hi
I have an old Nokia 3310 cell phone. Can i use the LCD on it for my Car PC. How? Can i use LCD from any other electrical appliance such as my walkman, or an old cd-player? Can i use the keypad of my nokia 3310 in any way for input for my Car PC.

dude...why do you want to do something like that. But in all fairness to answer your question I think it would be too hard to get that to work...at least for me anyways.
i want to use the nokia 3310 LCD just to be creative and different. i want to utilize something i already have instead of buying a new one. any answers to my earlier queation?

Yes. Look here for info on driving Nokia LCDs : http://sandiding.tripod.com/Bertys.html Took me about 30 seconds to find with altavista (hint hint).Originally Posted by sohaibma
Yes, if you can figure out the pinout and protocol and build driver circuitry.Originally Posted by sohaibma
Yes, they are just switches like any other.Originally Posted by sohaibma

Hmmm.... good links! Never would have thought that was possible. But in all reality, wouldn't that be a little hard to use in a car, being so small? Definately would make a cool casemod, but i'd think about something a bit bigger to use for a carpc.
i found out that Nokia 3310 lcd uses Philips PCD8544 Controller
but i dont know how i can connect it to the pc (how and through which port?)
please anyone help me
