Well they are doing a pretty good job of it. LOL. But I just sent the seller an e-mail asking for the model number and if its got a VGA connection on it. If he says yes and it can't then thats all out fraud.

Depends on how they word it. It has a cable to connect to VGA out on a PC, but the other end has S-video connector for the moniotr's input.

They count on making their sales to people that make the assumption that since it connects to VGA, it's VGA. But stick around here, and learn to trust what some of the vets tell you, and you won't end up wasting money with sellers like this.

I'm not going to buy it. I don't know enough about that monitor to buy it. I will probably end up buying a Xenarc instead. They are more expensive But I know more about them and haven't heard anything bad about them. They seem to be a better product.

You shouldn't have contradicted Pudge then. How would you feel if someone bought it because you stated it's a VGA screen, and they were stuck with it.

When you are guessing, you need to say stuff like, "It appears to me..." or "I'm not sure but..."

How is that vga cable any different than the one on a regular 7" lilliput? The monitor has all the plugs on one connector, that IS different, but I think it truely IS a VGA...look closely at the pic of the cable. I dont think you are seeing the s-video, but rather the DIN plug

I could only find 2 8" LCDs on Sharps website.

This one which is the one that DigitalWW sells
    http://www.sharpsma.com/fastfocus/ni...=PDLU6LVMR&n=1
This one actually says its a VGA LCD. And it looks exactly like the one in this Ebay auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38650 But in the pictures it has a Lilliput name plate on it even though it doesn't look like any lilliput I have seen and in the info of the auction it says its a Sharp Screen but doesn't give the manufacturers model number. But a quick glance at the specs says its a Sharp monitor instead of the lilliput

And then there is this one
    http://www.sharpsma.com/fastfocus/ni...=PCPVTUWS4&n=0
It doesn't look like the one in the auction and mentions nothing about it being VGA. But again it doesn't look like the one in the auctions pictures. But its specs don't match the one in the auction so I am counting this one out.

Hopefully I will know the manufacturers model number tomorrow. But based on the info I have seen this APPEARS to be a VGA monitor from Sharp Electronics.

BTW. When I said I didn't know enough about it. I wasn't talking about specs. Maybe you shouldn't guess as to what other people are thinking.

That's screen IS vga and is the same one that DigitalWW is selling.

Like most elcectronics company, Lilliput has bought in the technology from elsewhere i.e sharp and has rebadged it.

The screen's cables are no different to the 7in lilliput I have, in that it has a 15pin vga cable and usb socket one end and a 9pin mini-din connector at the other. The VGA signals utilise some of the 9pins and the usb the other 4pins and enter the monitor via a short cable with 9pin socket on it.

The resolution is 640x480 as the number of elements in electronicar's advert says 921600 which in simple terms is 640xRGBx480.

What makes me laugh is that the image from this screen was posted on here not more than 2months ago as someone had bought one and plugged the damn thing into a PC.

    Lilliput 8.4" Arrived! Nice.

So Yes MP3car does have the knowledge but it someone else who needs to do the searching

I stand corrected. The way they marketed it made it look shady, I should've done the math on 921600.

Yeah, they don't do themselves any favours as that advert 1st appear with half the pictures from the 7in lilliput they also sell

I bought the 7in touchscreen from them back in Oct last year and to say I was decidely nervous at sending the equivalent of $188 inc delivery to a company that resides in CA but ships from HK was an understatement. Can't fault them though as it turned up in 8days and was marked as a gift for $30!!!
