In other case, can i use the screen with a desktop. If anybody have the schema to construct a VGA to LCD converter, that will be fine.
i have a screeen model ( SAMSUNG LT121S1-105)
Yes, i have an old toshiba, and i want to put in my car like a carputer. My idea is to separate the screen from the computer.
My question is how long can support the wires, from the laptop to the screen with no loose images. Can i put the laptop in the rear of the car, and the screen in the front????????
Sorry my english. Im speak spanish
4015cds / 4.0
I have another toshiba SATELLITE PRO model 460CDX. But i dont have the screen model.
do a search on the forum about using laptop screens on PC's in the car. There a plenty of threads about it, mostly negative unfortunately, the cost of getting a board to drive them is more expensive than buying a 7" LCD VGA.
I had a 460cd, but found it too slow. It was Ok for MP3's but wouldn't update the screen fast enough for GPS
I don't want it to gps, but tell me if i can enlarge the cable from the computer to the LCD screen, like ten feet long, with any loose image..
Don't know. You can always try it and let us know for future reference.Originally Posted by eball
Or you could just buy a screen and hook it up that way
I have several Toshiba laptops, and here is what I have found out/done. Trying to extend the cable simply doesn't work without degrading the video quality trmendously. In my case I have a SUV so I have extra space to work with up front. Becasue of this I ripped the LCD of my Toshiba protege 7010, off the hinges of the laptop. I removed the built-in keyboard and place the LCD on top of the laptop, so now instead of a 2 peice laptop, I now have a 1 piece machine. With this I will then fabricate a case or shell around the unit and install it on my transmission hump in the front of my vehicle. Hope this helps.
