    Lilliput Power

I just got my 7" lilliput today and a friend and I were hooking it up. We didn't want to take the unfinished computer outside so we brought in a car battery and cut off the cig lighter adapter. We hooked up the two wires and the little egg on the wire basically blew up and now we have no power.

I know "that was stupid" blah blah blah but I need help. Can I get a generic one? Do I need that particular cord? What should I do?

    I need help,
    thank you

Open up that egg thingy (regulator) and see if you just blew a fuse.
If not then you will need to get a replacement for the egg OR you could run the screen directly off the 12v line in your carpc. You dont need to use the same wire but make sure you replace it with another wire the same gauge (thickness) or thicker.

EDIT: get a few opinions before hooking the screen up to the 12v line without a fuse. I dont want to be responsible for a broken screen

No Wait! I Blew my egg up too
What you did was hook it up backwards

What you need to do is go to wallmart and buy a cigarette lighter adapter that outputs 12 volts, This way your power is regulated.

yep, any 12V regulated source that can put out 1 amp will take care of your screen - just use the same barrel plug and PLEASE use a fuse....and maybe a multimeter?

Ya after reading the forums, I realized my friend hooked it up backwards.
So all I need to do is get a generic one from wal-mart?

    Sounds good, thanks everybody
