when I thought it was all kool and stuff

So I finally finished my install about 4-5 months ago. Not too professional, but hey, it worked, so it was pretty cool for a while. I had the PC under the driver's sit, used Power inverter and all. Bought the LCD on ebay (the one from HK) and just used it with a supplied stand glued to a part of my dash. It worked! Didn't look tooooo good but did everything it had too. And one of these days, about two weeks ago, I decide to take the screen apart and see if it will fit in my dash. So that's what I do. No problem there. Then I see that it'd be easier if I just had the pannel out just to see how it would fit. So I disconnect a set of wires, and then realize that it's almost impossible to connect them back!

That's the set of wires I'm talking about. I try to connect it somehow but it wouldn't work. The screen simply doesn't display anything. The problem there is that I cannot match all the little connectors there. there are too many of them.
So right now I'm one broke mofo with a broken LCD.

Any ideas/suggestions on how to plug the damn wires back in? Or at least on how to test if the screen is still ok? THanks.

P.S. sorry for the long post, kinda had to let it all out...

It doesnt look like you released the connector tab. There is a tab, usually a different color, on the ribbon side that you pull out, slide the ribbon in the slot, and then push the tab back in to lock it. Also there are issues on one of the ribbons with alignment to the left or right, but I cannot remember which side which cable goes to. Might search for it if it is an issue.

the tab was released and the wire was taken out completely. And yes, you're right, the alignment is the problem there, since I just can't keep the wire aligned properly while putting back the tab. that's the main concern...

In that case I would start on one side and if that doesnt work try the other. I know the alignment was discussed here, but I cannot find it. Centering it will not work. You may need a second set of hands if you are like me.

alright, thanks a lot. I guess I'll just need to keep changing the position of the cable and turn it on everytime time to see if it works. Any idea if the wrong pins are connected, can it damage the screen? thanks
