Need help from someone with a lilliput in pieces....

Usual story my lilliput has died whilst working on a custom install - I've been very careful and this isn't the first time i've had it apart.... I suspect its the ribbon cable between controller and LCD ( lilliput only flashes its button LED's but doesn't turn on )
I would really appricieate it if someone could try powering their lilliput with the ribbon cable disconnected. I'm hoping the LED's flash once and the lilliput does not power up - I may be able to fix a ribbon cable...

hi,

i'm having problems with mine two, but seems that no one sell parts for this babies.

in you case, I bet the problem is the cable connecting the buttons. To work properly, it must be connected pushed to one of the sides of the connector in the buton pcb.

the buttons seem to work - when I press the power button I get a flash from the LED's but thats all - pressing button again does the same ( indicating the lilliput is turning itself off after each flash ) just trying to work out if a disconnected LCD would cause this or whether its a problem on controller board. ( if i do not plug LCD in to controller board I get the exact same situation.

If someone else can get the same results with a disconnected LCD on a working controller - then I know its my LCD at fault somewhere, otherwise its my controller board....

( i have been moving lcd about checking sizes - but controller has been stored in a box safely...

Heh, cant say ive had mine in pieces but u should really spend some time wiggling those ribbon cables from other users it seems that the ribbons really are crap. You can order new ones from www.digitalww.com might be worth a shot.

ah you are life savers !, it was the button ribbon - as previously discussed they've fitted the wrong connector for size of ribbon - deceptive as the button's were working - but it was this...
someone shoudl come up with a FAQ of symptoms and solutions...
