Been busy, and haven't heard from the seller. Here are a few pictures. What is the black/gray bar? Can I replace it myself? It is cracked totally.

So my inverter bit the dust in my laptop. So I searched on ebay and found a replacement (used) inverter. Got it within 72 hours of wining the auction (fastest ebay transaction ever). Installed it last night and played for a few hours. Went to use it this afternoon and the laptop posts, then the inverter starts buzzing/clicking. Blacklight goes dim. Everytime the LCD tries to start the inverter just buzzes/clicks. The only noticable damage is to gray/black rod (some metal or something) underneath the "Caution: High Volatge" label/tape. What ever it is is split into two, just like the org one (which I only noticed after comparing the two). Now I'm out at least $15, if not the whole cost if the seller won't refund.

Does anybody know what the thingy is? Can just it be replaced? I'll take a picture later if needed.
Also does anybody know of a place that sells inverters (new) for a Mitsubishi 14.1" LCD other than eBay? (That doesn't cost an arm and leg)
Gateway P/N: 3RE4U22800180
Above is compatible with these LCDs: AA141XA02, AA142XEO2 ,AA141XA12,AA142XC01

If it has happened to two of the inverters, i would suggest your problem is in something else, making the inverters go bad... just a thought
