The most common SPDT relay, at least in the car audio industry is just a little black cube that is about 1" x 1" x 1" sometimes with a little bracket attached or molded into it for a single screw, and on the bottom, there are five male spade type terminals on it... below is a picture of the bottom which shows the numbers as in the diagrams above...
I hope that sheds some light on what the numbers are and helps you put it together... This next picture is the same picture but someone has added a diagram of what is going on inside...
Anyway, I ordered my Cheese Box and should have it soon... WAY before my truck is even running! lol Damn I need to get that thing back on the road so I can resume carputer install...

Here is where to connect your wires to the CheeseBox:

Thanks for the info on where to connect into the Cheese Box, which by the way showed up today... only took like 2-3 days to get mine from Baber.com... anyway, now all I need is a running car! lol

Actually, it was Ryuandwings that started it all (we continued on that subject thru email, until we had it figured out).
Ryuandwings is the one that deserves the thanks. Especially from me, because he was nice enough to give me a CheeseBox for free! Figuring out how to replace the switch with a relay (also a switch) was no big feat. The initial idea was all Ryu.
So, thanks again Ryuandwings.
Well, in that case... Thanks to BOTH of yous! I know I appreciate it... and I'm willing to bet that I'm not the only one. Now if I could just get this motor back into the VX, I could start working on my HUGE amount of fabrication that needs to be done for my carputer. Thanks eCar™ AND Ryuandwings!
Randy!
Couldn't you do this with a USB webcam, USB relay, and a little programming?
Yeah, but then you gots to wait till your computer boots to use the webcam.Originally Posted by slffl
