Oh crap.. Does this appear like a dead LCD?

Well after running nicely for a few weeks, tonight all i get is a blank white screen. Solid. Tried a different video card, the same. Hooked it up to the laptop, still white and very, very blank.. OSD do not show up as well.

It is obviously getting some signal since when i disconnect the cable the screen becomes black, but when i hook it up, it goes to blank white

I am running this via a 6" VGA extension cable, but there is nothing visually wrong with the cable/joints.

And yep, no POST, no boot up, nothing. Blank and white. solid. Help!

If no POST, check/reseat RAM and Video card.
Try to connect the small PC speaker (one attach to the desktop case). Before/during POST, count the beep. One short beep mean good. If more than one check mobo manual for what the hell those beep mean.
PC still boot with or without monitor (dead or a live).

Actually the actual pc boots and all. Just nothing on the screen, including post so i know it's not a resolution/refresh rate issue. I also tried it with another computer; still the same. I haven't powered it on in about 4 days and last time i had it on and off it was working perfectly. Perhaps something got knocked off inside?

Since it gave me insomnia, i took it out of the car (ugh) and brought it upstairs.. now it won't even power on. Nada. Dead. nothing. lifeless.

WTF? every time i try to turn it on its something different. ideas before i throw it out?

just thought i would update that as of 230am it appears there is no power coming to it or it simply refuses to turn on. So i went from a blank screen to a nothing without doing anything.

As far as i know, it is assembled by MMI (http://www.mmidisplaysystems.com/) using 3M parts.

It is a 10.4" with serial touch screen. actual image of offending unit below.

Ok i took it apart today and tested it. backlight appears to operate but there is no power going to/through the controller whatsoever short of the 12v jack which is built into the controller itself (along with the osd buttons).

The LCD is an and10c273-hb (300nits, 800x640 one), with a 3m dynapro resistive touch screen ran by some god awfull controller which now appears dead.

I have emailed earth lcd to see if they have a compatible one, but really, does this appear like a controller issue or an electrical short (they are both on the same board apparently)?

sigh... ever since the first screw this project has been nothing but a money pit and headaches.

I would consider a lilliput mounted where my GPS is now, but with the array of issues they have and besides, once you've gone 10.4, you don't want to go back
