Very nice dash build, and a very tidy security solution.

Surprised no one (inlcuding me) has thought of it before.

Yes, I must concure... that is one of the nicest installs I have seen.... I ran through all the pics you had on the MORE PICS link....

If you have some more pics of actually fabricating the dash panels I would love to see them. I saw one where it looked like to had the openings glassed over.... is that correct? And you cut them open at some later point?

Also I assume there was some significant bondo work done....

But again, that is and awesome install and a great idea with the shroud..

Glad to see you got the SR-8185 working... my SR-8184 is lying in the "extra parts" pile...

Right now I'm just using my laptop temporarily, that is why you see it in the pics. What's holding it up? My knees. That's my wife's feet you see in the driver's side footwell.

My Via M10000 and it's Cubix 2799R case are going in the trunk in the amp rack (there's a pic of that under "more pics" too). It will be in the center section, all wired up. Can you say 15' vga, usb, ps2, and power wires to the trunk? *shakes head* what a pain it has been!

sq_geek, I own a 2001 maxima and I have been trying to figure out how to mount a LCD without taking out the factory stereo.

How did you solve the problem with the AC and heating?

i have to agree, that is a tight install, i did a similar install in my 02 maxima se 6 spd, but i kept the a/c fans, and also don't have a dvd drive installed in the front like that.. check out my pics here:

    Face Plate Halfway Done

This weekend I'm working on the face plate to get it completed.. more bondo, more sanding, more painting, etc. I also hope to begin on my amp rack and sub box.. who knows.

I too would like to see fabrication pics.. may give me some ideas for my own dash.. once again.. good job.

For all you 2k to 2k3 maxima owners, I recommend this part from a MAXIMA GXE from Courtesy Nissaan for your scren installs.

    No fiberglassing necessary.

    ALL IN ONE unit.

Also, if your interested as well, i found this guy who moved teh climate control to where the sunglass holder is.

I can't wait to get rid of my 7" display and XBOX media center setup for a incar pc.
