I had this same problem too and I resolved it the same way you did, by uninstalling then reinstalling Bluetooth after installing the Lilliput drivers. Hopefully Microsoft will soon naively support Bluetooth, maybe this type of problem will go away.
Hope this helps someone else out:
FYI:
If you have bluetooth already installed and you are trying to setup the lilliput drivers it will not work.
You need to uninstall bluetooth first, install the touch drivers (leave the lcd usb cable unplugged while doing this) then plug the usb cable in. Once you get the LCD working you can install bluetooth again.
The touchscreen installation kept crashing on me and i could not figure out why...bluetooth drivers were conflicting and once i got them out of the way the installation completed.

How about Microsoft natively supporting touchscreen? I just know someone is going to say: "Use a Mac, or use Linux" or whatever.
Ms will support bluetooth in SP2 which should be coming out in a few months.
