    Hardwiring Lilliput to Opus

I've done a search & still can't find anything. Is there a diagram or illustration of how to best/easily hardwire my lilliput screen to my 150w Opus? I know I can cut the 'egg' off as the Opus provides constant 12v, but can I just somehow tap into any of the wires from the Opus?

Sorry for the dumb question, but not quite sure.
    Thanks in advance.

    Carputer: Mirco ATX, 2.4gHz, 256ram, 80gig, 7"touchscreen, Opus

Unfortunately, that's the end! Was good while it lasted, but gotta sell the car.

I'm planning on doing the same thing. here's a thought though:

would this work? If it would then you wouldn't have to tap any wires.

    That's hilarious!

    Edit:
It get's funnier!! Don't touch it after heating, and don't light cigarettes!

Notes: (1) Want to hook up a automotive light or other device without using one of these adapters? See our guide to hooking up a light for information. (2) Don't touch the cigarette lighter after heated. (3) WARNING: The primary use for this device is to hookup automotive devices that normally hook into the cigarette lighter slot -- but not necessarily to light cigarettes. The cigarette lighter is usable BUT it takes a large amount of power to operate when heating -- so much so that an average PC that is well equipped may not be able to operate it. If you actually intend to use this device as a cigarette lighter then please be ready to upgrade your power supply if it doesn't work properly. You have been warned. (ud080503lp)

This thread talks about it: Thread

"At the Opus end, I soldered the wires into a Y power splitter (+ve to yellow and -ve to black) - the one that has a female connector that plugs into the Opus 4-pin power connector for hard disks and splits into 4-pin hard disk power connectors."

A diagram with step by step instructions would be very nice.

Heres my attempt at what I think needs to be done. I believe the most difficult part is making sure you have the correct polarity. Please let me know if there are any mistakes in the diagram.

Can we just cut off the barrel from the cigarette lighter adaptor and splice the wires right before the EGG, into the MOLEX connector?

I have it just hooked up to one of the 12V lines from a molex connector going straight into the Lilliput - no egg. I have heard others say that the egg will not give it quite 12V so it will be brighter without it. As for regulation- thats why I bought the Opus.

I also did this with a y connector and pulled 12v off for the LCD and the 5V off for my modified serial Earthmate (was/is USB)- Thanks to Rando for the pinouts for that mod.
