    is this characteristic of LCD???

i've got a Boss BV6VIS 6" TFT LCD monitor. i received it a few weeks ago but have just recently started using it. but there seems to be a problem with it...

when i turn it on, the picture is black + white. BUT it turns to color once the monitor has warmed up a bit, which can take a while and this is where it becomes annoying. similarly, when i get into my car after work and after my car has been baking in the sun for 9 hours, the monitor displays color as soon as i turn it on.

anyone ever have this kind of problem? i was just wondering if it might be a characteristic of LCD monitors or if i may need to fix something. just looking for ideas before i decide to open it up and take a look. thanks.

That should not happen at all, instead of tring to fix it yourself you should see to getting it replaced from where you got it from.

    *UPDATE*

well, i've discovered that it's NOT the monitor that has a problem. it's the DVD player i'm using. computer boots up in full color, but the dvd player does not and will convert to color after some time.
