modify flip down monitors to in dash

I was wondering if anyone knows if a overhead or flip down monitor could be modified to an fit in a dash (eliminate the overhead part) I have not seen one in person and dont know how they are built. I had a 12.1" monitor before but i had to sell my truck PC b/c i needed money, i didn't think it would be this difficlut to find a large sized monitor again.

By indash do you mean fit into a din slot or are you asking if it is possible to remove the module itself and build it into a custon dash?

If you are asking about DIN mounting...
You could probably do it, but it would be a LOT of fabrication and not worth your time, just go by an in-dash one preassembeled.

If you areaksing about removing the module....
Sure, the flip down part of the screen is only a platic enclosure (speaking generally). Usuaslly its nothing more than a few screw to get hte module out of there.

I just want to mold the screen into my dash, the reason i want to do it this way is because i am looking for a 10.4" monitor, and there only affordable in the flip down models. So i want to know are there components in the top part (the part attached to the roof) that can not be removed?

I would have to see the specific screen to be sure, but all of the ones I have had my hands on are just plastic molding covering the components/wiring. Like I said before, its usually as simple as just taking out a few screws....
