I'm aware that it's the native resolution. My point was that it's a very useless native resolution.

Any solutions to the original post? I have the exact same problem...I just bought a Radeon AIW 7500 VE and have the same problem as the original poster: xenarc picks up 640x480 and looks like SHIZ when I set the resolution in powerstrip to 800x480. HELP?!

No, the FAQ didn't help. I think I am doing exactly what it says - and windows says that I am setting the resolution to 800x480 but the on-screen-display for the Xenarc comes up as "640x480" and it looks terrible...

So, even tweaking the refresh rate didn't help? That's disapointing

I'm sure SOMEONE can provide some advice that will solve my problem?!

Here is the process I have gone through:
    -Install Radeon AIW 7500
    -Install Powerstrip
-In powerstrip, go to "custom resolutions"
-Set a custom resolution as per the numbers given in Xenarc's FAQ
    -Select "add resolution" and reboot
-800x480 resolution has been added to the list under "list all modes" in my adapter settings
-I select the new 800x480/32 bit/60 Hz setting and select "apply"
-My resolution now looks like crap (distorted and fuzzy) and the OSD displays "640x480"
-I go into powerstrip and select "advanced timing options"
-Even though I put in the correct numbers when setting the custom resolution as explained above, the "horizontal geometry" section shows incorrect (different than I input) numbers for "synch width" and "back porch". Those numbers *should* be 80 and 60 respectively. I can't remember the exact numbers that are showing up right now, but they aren't the same ones I set when I input numbers for the custom resolution...they get changed somehow and I'm sure this is what is messing things up! Can someone help?!

Has ANYONE managed to get the refresh rates and front/back porch settings to get the lilliput (my screen) or xenarc to display 800x480 correctly?

If so, would you kindly publish working settings?

I am also struggling to get my Xenarc to recognise 800*480. I have tried Powerstrip with a Radeon 7000 card and an Nvidia card using the Nvidia driver to select 800*480. In both cases the card says it is outputting 800*480, but the Xenarc recognises it as 640*480, interpolates pixels and makes the whole thing look horrible. I have tried Xenarc's webiste suggestion of tweaking the refresh rate, but this only moved in much bigger steps for me than the 0.001Hz Xenarc suggest is possible and didn't work.

Has anyone got their Xenarc to recognise 800*480? If so, then how did you do this? Has anyone got working Powerstrip or Nvidia driver settings for 800*480 on a Xenarc.
