Sounds bad, send it back.
I just got my Lilliput 8" today. I couldn't hook it up to my laptop. ATI Control Panel said there was no screen connected. Plugged it into my server (which has no monitor) and it got a signal with no problems. Except....
There is either too much red or no green in the screen. Everything looks pink. I've done the Auto display. Played with all the color settings on the screen and on the video card. Connections are all tight. No matter what I do, it still looks pink.
EDIT: Okay. I'm 95% positive that I'm getting no Green from the screen. I've moved the sliders for the green and it makes no change.
EDIT2: You know how your START button is supposed to be green... well mine is gray.![]()
Anyone know what's going on and why I couldn't connect it to my laptop (w/ ATI Radeon IGP) (S-Video worked but wasn't high enough quality).

when working should look like this...
Sounds to me like your cable might be having some problems. Try playing with the cable at the 9 pin din. This connection is the weak link.
as for not working with the laptop, i'd say its a problem with the laptop. Have you been successful in plugging your laptop into any external LCDs? for some reason my HP laptop won't work three external LCDs that i have, while an IBM t20 and t40 in the house does it fine...

Sounds like a problem with the cable!
Off-topic:
Robie.. Do you have problems with screen vibrations with the way the screen is mounted right now in your car?

Of course, the cable. Try that, sounds likely.
it doesn't vibrate, but it did giggle going over bumps. I slid the mount a little further back so the screen was resting against the dash, and now it doesn't budge
(I attached velcro to the bottom of the lilliput stand, then lined the DIN pocket sitting below the head unit with velcro)

Ah, i see. Mine is giving me hell. The way i have it mounted i cant really put anything behind it to prevent the vibration at higher speeds/bumps. I've stiffened the bracket, but still. Grr.!Originally Posted by robiewp

Does anyone have a pin-out diagram for the video cable. I want to hit it with the multimeter to make sure, atleast, the pins are properly working. (I know I saw it somewhere but...)
I got this thing off Ebay from Hong Kong. I don't feel that I should have to pay for a cable. Who should I contact first to get them to fix it: Ebay seller or Lilliput (warranty)?

if its electronicar, they are usually good with fixing problems, although you do have to pay to send it back. Email them and winge :P couldnt hurt![]()
Got the problem fixed. It was simply a bent pin on the inside. I must have bent it when I first hooked up the screen. Took a while to get it straight and then to restraighten the rest of the pins but now I am getting the color green on the screen.
Thanks for everyone's help.
