    10.4 open frame lcd kit

    I found a distributor that would sell me this lcd kit with usb touch sceen for 650.00 plus shipping , the kit does come with the controller and inverter everythig you need to connect to your pc

    the brightness can be changed by request up to 700 nits

    What type of controller? 640 x 480 is a little on the small side. 600x800 is the lowest I would go

    the controller is a Prisma 10 RGB-Video it can handle xga resolution of 1024x768

    the reason I asked is the distance from the controller to the lcd has to be small. If it's a pci/agp controller then the whole computer will have to be close to the lcd

    actually the controller is mounted on the back of the lcd on a detachable plate ,the controller has a short cable that goes to the lcd then it has a vga input for the pc cable

    The controller looks nice. But, as mentioned, the panel is only 640x480. Can they supply panels that are 1024x768, or at least 800x600? What would be the price difference?

    from what i understand the Pixel Format: 640(H) x RGB x 480(V) dots, but i believe it supports Resolutions of up to 1024x768 thru the controller. i will check with the dist. on that

    Yeah, but displaying 1024x768 on a 640x480 LCD is not going to look good. IMHO, the native resolution is the only resolution that looks good enough to me.

    yes they do have a lcd kit with 800X600 for about 650.00 but its only 350 nits
