New to this site, thought i would say hi and post some of my work

Hi, im new to this site, i have been looking around for a few months and really like what i have seen so i though i would make my first thread. of course, if i am doing something wrong, posting in the wrong place or whatever, please let me know.

I have a 2001 ford explorer sport trac with a custom fiberglass center console housing a kenwood lz-800w 8 inch touchscreen,, the touchscreen is connected to the kenwood GPS system and my xbox.

    touchscreen: http://www.zjstech.net/~library/3675/touchscreen.jpg

That was my first console that i made. I also made one for another sport trac owner and molded in a lilliput instaed of the kenwood,, if i could do it again in my trac, i would have gone with the lilli as well.

sorry that one isnt the greatest picture.

I am also in the process of upgrading my rear 5 inch TFT LCD screens to 7 inch screen, the one on the left is the new one i just installed, and you can guess what the one on the right is,, its soon to be gone and replaced.

ok, last pic, this is just a shot of the trac:

i also think that if i were to do another lilliput i would mold the bezel directly into the console and get rid of the seem, just blend it in instaed of having it removeable

    riuster,

I am 6'1'' so the angle is perfect for me, from where i sit i can see the GPS out of the corner of my eye and i have gotten to the point that i know where the buttons on the touchscreen are and can run the screen with no problem and for the most part not take my eyes off the road.

The nice thing about the placement is that its low enough that it isnt distracting to me. if it were mounted higher i could see myself getting distracted by bright lights and pretty colors lol. Also, when i have someone in the front seat playing video games or watching a movie its not distracting to me and i can concentrate on the road.

I have however thought about replacing my stock stereo with a lilliput and a carputer, are there radio programs for computers that i can get radio stations along with my 10 gigs of mp3s???

here is another angle of that touchscreen

Also, here is a before shot of what the console used to look like.. the origional had all silver trim(fords idea of factory custom) but i didnt like that so i painted everything estate green to match the exterior. after that i got bored and decided to do something radical so i added a few inches on either side with fiberglass and molded that huge touchscreen right in there

Hey Ryan. Its Ed. I am the one whos lilliput that is still yet to do a full write up on that. Going to do that this week since I have some free time.

Had a question for you i think with the heat when I came down here some of the glue has worn off of the foam(stuff in between the console and the dash) I left the extra that you sent me in tennessee, can i just super glue it back or should i go get some more and where should i get it?
