Investigating: Make Your Own HUD

<> I've got an old HP 3630 PalmPC & and an old PalmPilot

I'm thinking that a HUD for my CarPC would be pretty nifty.

Obsticles:
<> How to drive a 2nd display that is completely different than the first.
<> Different in that: the display would have to be a mirror image since it will be reflected off the windshield.
<> How would I go about applying a .5 mirror coating to the area of the windshield that reflects the HUD display?

I've set my iPac on the dash board and thought that the image was fair enough. Not certain if the mirroring would be an dealbreaker.

:: Your thoughts? any ideas? anyone done this already?

evidently.... i can BREAK my iPaq to make it display the reverse image that would make it suitable for use as a HUD unit..
