Also, does the SP7 touchscreen one have auto-on?
i bought an sp7 (from ebay). it didn't auto power on, but it was also defective in that the vga input wasn't working properly and the on screen menus were trashed. once i get the new one i'll let you know if it has auto-on... but i doubt it.

See, heres the problem. Some people have no problems, others have big problems. Mine was never taken apart until it started having problems, and most of the problem ends up being in the din cable, if you so much as wink at it, it would make the screen flicker and make the colors do strange things. Still havent fixed that. Also my touch screen is fried and has been ever since I spent the bucks to send it to HK and have it "fixed"...what a joke. My lilliput is sitting in a box in my room and i dont plan on spending time and money installing it just to be let down again. If i trusted it, my car pc wouldnt be a htpc right now.

I guess I'll go with the Xenarc and spend the extra cash. How long is the warranty? 1 year?

I am not positive on the length of the warrenty, but much more importantly, buy it from someone you can work with in case there is an issue. I would highly recommend buying it here...at the mp3car store. Take it from someone who thought they were saving money by buying from HK....you arent saving money in the long run.

there are really no warrenty problems except that you will need to send it back to be repaired. Like I was saying, I bought mine from HK and it had to go back there ($70 shipping later) to be "fixed" and it came back with a bad touchscreen. So what did I save? Nothing, nada, zip! If I had known i would have never bought off of eBay. If you feel the need to save a few bucks by using eBay, understand that the warrenty is a "manufacturers" warrenty....it will need to go back to where it was made to fix it. You cant just return it to the seller.

Per the info. on the mp3car store's Shipping/Return page: "contact zip-lock for assistance if unit is DOA". (not verbatum, but you get the point)

The item's description (Xenarc monitor) says warranty is 18 months.

I would contact zip-lock and ask about any pontential warranty issues and how they would be handled.

I know some of the other sellers of the Xenarc (not ebayer's) handle warranty direct.

Either way, you get 30 days through mp3car if the monitor has issues, after that, ask.

I am broke.... but I still bought the Xenarc (400nit).
It has been a great monitor with no problems, no ghost images, and no resolution issues. Auto turn-on has been wonderful!
I am of the opinion that in most cases, you get what you pay for.

All this aside, buy the Xenarc. I did it mainly becuase I am always short on cash and didnt want to have to pay 300 bucks for a lilliput, then in 5 months spend another 300 bucks for another lilliput, then in another 6 months get fed up and spend 450 on a xenarc. I skipped the first two (hypothetical) steps.

    Thanks for listening!

If you look for a Xenarc on eBay, make sure they're an "authorized Xenarc distributor", or the warranty's no good.
