FACTS ONLY, Is the Xenarc More Sunlight Readable Than The Lilliput

Please I really just want the real answer, Is the "NEW" Xenarc Brighter than the Lilliput? I have a lilliput and am looking at upgrading to the Xenarc but only if I will notice a more readable screen.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I have never seen the lilliput, my Xenarc is nice, but I have never used it in the sunlight yet.

As far as i understand the new xenarc is par with the the lilli as for brightnes (they are both 400nits) but you can pay extra for extra brightness and there is also an option for anti glare coating but it all costs extra. i think your looking at around 600 bucks for the high end model

In my experience/opinion, yes, the Xenarc is better in direct sunlight than the Lilliput I have used (which was one of the "original" Lilliputs, so I can't comment on the newer ones)

However, if you're viewing them at an angle, they are still bad. Have the screen perpendicular to your eyes, and the Xenarc is more visible. Even at a slight angle, the Xenarc is more visible IN MY OPINION.

Of course, you might still be unhappy with the Xenarc, but I can say that I am much happier with my Xenarc than the Lilliput.

Thanks guys. It just seems hard to justify the extra cash for the Xenarc. I think my lilli is getting dimmer, maybe I should just update? I'm in Australia and the best prices I can find is US$399 Shipped or US$249 + $35 shipping for the lilliput. Do you reakon it worth the extra 115?

Yeah I know this gets asked every week!!

I think we need a new option that blows both of them away!!

Does anyone have any experiance with the HI-Brightness Xenarc??

Buy a lilliput, take it apart, and replace the backlight with a 1500 watt halogen worklamp. The powarrrrrrrrrrrr

... On a serious note, I've never seen a Xenarc IRL, but I find my lilliput to be a bit dim... You've probably seen this, but just in case, this might help a little:

yeah, thats the old xenarc isn't it? I think it hard for people to tell which is better because u really need to see them side by side......

yeah I saw that too. he said his best price was 699 compared to 570 from the states. I don't think he is a retail store though. Think it's just an internet based thing.
