I'm installing a screen on a laptop with the serial connection and it says that the connection is not found. I only have 1 com port but multiple baud rates and I matched them up with the 9600 but it still doesnt find it. What can be wrong ? Any help would be great thanks

Maybe if you give more details - OS, kind of screen, drivers installed, etc.

what sort of screen are you connecting to COM port??
datalux with serial touchscreen connection using the specified 3M drivers installed. When in detect mode it will not detect and ask to choose a different COM port. Running windows 98
so it's just the touchscreen going into the com port then?
Ok you say you've got the baud rate matched, what about parity and stop bits?
I have found that, at times, the com ports are disabled on bios. This can lead to frustrating hours of cussing, searching web sites, and general hair pulling. You might try entering BIOS and verifying it is enabled.....

ok i just went in and made sure bios had it enabled and even enabled a different port # to see if it would work but it doesnt. It only allows me to select one # so i have it on com 1. Parity and stop are also set to specifications but it still says touchscreen not found on the port. It is only the touchscreen on serial, the monitor itself is in the VGA plug. Thanks for your help guys
Do you have anything on com 3?
My Install
Software:
CFiG v1
iGuidance Plugin for CF
CarShell
Working shell for a CarPC
StopWatch
StopWatch plugin remade for centrafuse RC1
i currently just set it to com3 and no there isnt anything on it. I had it on com1. I also did what 3M sugested and updated the ACPI bio to PCI still no luck. this sucks
