No, I don't work for VIA, but an old friend of mine does. The state of play is this:
The bios team were working on the driver update as of last night. They are sure the chipset will support this resolution. I've found them a Xenarc retailer locally (they're made here in Taiwan after all) and they will buy one themselves for testing. No need for you guys to mail your hardware over here.
I'll let you all know as soon as there are some results.

Does anyone have experience with the 800TSV? Says the Physical Resolution is 640x480, but supports resolutions 640 x 480 ~ 1600 x 1200 and is 4:3.

Anyone know what it looks like at 800x600? If its good, I will Gladly spend the extra $80 for another 1" of screen real estate, since I have room for it anyway.

    Thoughts?

I considered the via board when I decided to rip out my shuttle p4, nice but way to hot & power hungry. I looked at many different options, & decided that the via had too many limitations, not the least of which is the fact that it is relatively slow & the 800X480 problem....

I settled on a pentium m centrino design, with a 1.6 donthan chip, with the 2gb L2 cache, blisteringly fast & uses about as much power as the via setup, I am doing this by using a dell 700m centrino laptop motherboard

the reason I am posting this here is because this setup uses a ati video setup that supports dual screens & 800X480 res. at many different refresh rates, I haven't connected the lilli yet as I'm still playing with the lvds interface for the primary screen, but I will test & post here, it should work.....

for someone starting from scratch this appears to be a good option, you get alot for the money & you can buy a whole laptop in the $800-$1000 range but sell the screen portion on ebay for at least $300-$350, did I mention that it is extremely fast, benchmarking up there with 3.0p4's, & uses a total of 85 watts with the 12.1" widescreen, take that off & your probably around 55 watts.......

Would they need a Xenarc to test on to ensure the drivers work for both displays or is it believed that a solution for one will be a solution for all? Comments...
