You need something in your computer that can do S-Video out.

Be warned that S-Video is lower quality than VGA.

    You need something like this.

The other option is a graphics card that has S-Video out. There's dozens of brands/models out there with this capability, so find one that meets your requirements and budget limitations.

And in my opinion, it's a huge difference.
RCA composite & S-Video are designed for TV/video signals, which are a lower resolution/refresh rate than a computer's SVGA output.
I've seen the S-video out to a TV and it really does look crappy.

Oh, and that product was found in about 30sec with a broadband connection and . USE IT!
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

and to spoil the party a little bit more, I dont think that monitor / screen conforms to a DIN standard so it might not fit in your dash with a simple bondo "job" if they can ever be simple, you see that screen is 7.2 and the Xenarc / lili that is favoured is a 7 inch and, and, and so please measure up your space properly first off.

    DarquePervert:

Just FYI that cable is not a VGA->composite/s-video converter cable. Do not plug that into any VGA card expecting it to work. I believe those types of cables came with the Matrox G200, G400, and G450 series cards -- They output NTSC and S-Video on the VGA connector and the cable simply gives you the correct plugs. It is similar to DVI->VGA cables in that the analog signal itself is output from the DVI connector, but the plug is not compatible with standard VGA monitor plugs.

A real scan converter to convert VGA to NTSC is quite a bit more expensive. You can find them as cheap as $60 or so on ebay.

Here is a page with a lot more information about VGA <-> TV conversion.

BTW the difference in picture quality is no contest. While NTSC (Television) video is technically capable of 720x480 resolution, putting the signal onto an S-Video or Composite transport is going to really make it blur. Plus most of the TV encoders on video cards are very cheap, so they compound the blur problem. Finally, the signal is interlaced meaning that you only get a maximum of 720x240 resolution every field.

Go with a VGA monitor. Now that the VGA option has been available for years in the 7" form factor, people should not even be asking this question any more.

Okay here is a picture of a liliput VGA 7 inch LCD (thanks to digitallww for the image) as you can see it is smaller than a 7.2 inch screen.

Get a better screen and save money on processor / mobo etc, the screen will be with you for a long time and its the way everyone will see your new toy, skimp on the screen and you wont enjoy your system as much

These guys are right. Save your money for a vga screen. I speak from experience. I have a a non-vga screen and it's okay but I'm getting a vga screen this week.
