I've also been checking into flashing my bios on my vid card with different timings. I've found some info on how to do it with matrox cards, but nothing else yet...
Been thinking about this for a while now...getting the video card to initialise properly without having to use powerstrip.
Heres an application notes from microchip :

The circuit is very simple and just uses a single serial EEPROM progammed with the psone screen parameters.
Im hoping the card will initialise properly even when booting up in DOS
Anyway just thought Ill let all PSONE screen moders know whats out there. Anyone wanna try please let us know the results...Im too busy for this at the moment.
Anyone with a good link to DDC specifications/parameters? The VESA site wants money![]()

Yes theres a modified BIOS for this. From what I can remember back in the old G200 days, the BIOS update untility can read the cards parameters and save as a text file...a PIN file is called I think. From there you can modify the timings and stuff and upload it back to the card. I think we are talking about the same stuff here...whats the link for the BIOS hack you got?
Im using ATI Radeon and I doubt theres something for it...just not too happy with the PSONE displaying garbled image while in POST.
Yeah, I've looked all over for ATI or NVIDIA bios editors. Nvidia I have found a few, but none that work with my card. I'll dig up the matrox bios info for ya... Also, there is a group that makes these cards: http://www.ultimarc.com/avgainf.html
It's based on a radeon 9200. I may just buy one...

Look cool, but can it be just a radeon with a modified BIOS?
Not an option for me because Im using a laptop systemboard with a built in radeon. Buying one? well I think I could have bought a proper screen at the first place

If the DDC generator can make the screen work in DOS/WIN then I think its an ideal solution.
Ill try it out as soon as I have the time and let you guys know if its worth the hassle.
