I have the 8" Lilliput touchscreen. It might 'do' 1024x768, but you'll use it at 800x600. I'm really happy with it.
There are several adverts for 8" screens currently. There appear to be 2 people both selling 8" lcds (very different screen shots) and both claiming they are 1024x768 native resolution and 400 nits. Is this true - does anyone have any experience of these models?
One has the model number Lilliput model no. 809GL-80NP/T stated.

More specs are here http://www.mp3car.com/store/product_...products_id=42
The places I've found don't all agree on the specs. Sigh. Do these look correct? I would not find it on the official lilliput web site!
800x600 native resolution
supports 1024x768 (which I may use)
280 nits brightness with touch screen
400 nits without
Contrast 200:1
Are these any better in quality than the 7" ones that people mostly seem to complain abouton this forum?
Any brighter since that's a big concern for me? 400 nits sounded "good" but 280 sounds to be back at the point people say the Xenarc all the 8" Xenarc's are lower resolution than I want.
Can the touchscreen be easily removed?
The touchscreen is really easy to remove, just open up the screen and there is two strips of doublesided tape between the screen and the touchscreen overlay.

I am very happy with the display quality of my 8", clarity, brightness, and accuracy of touch are all excellent.
I have only had it for a month, but I am very impressed.
I have a 7" xenarc in my other car, I like the 8" Lilly better.
pics of that 8?
